Genevieve "Gee Gee" Garcia is the Founder and Executive Director of Vibe Together, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through the arts and wellness. A proud Vallejo, California native, Gee Gee was raised in a city rich in culture, creativity, and soul—an environment that ignited her passion for the arts from a young age.

With over 20 years of experience as a Choreographer, Dancer, and Artistic Director in the music, film, and entertainment industry, Gee Gee has shared her talents across the country, inspiring others through the power of movement and storytelling. She is also the former owner and Director of Moves Dance Academy, where she built a lasting legacy of empowering young talent and fostering a supportive space for artistic growth.

Her return to her hometown and the launch of Vibe Together reflect her deep commitment to giving back—creating meaningful opportunities for youth to explore movement, embrace wellness, and express themselves fully.

Program/Operations Director, Vibe Together

Makita L. Fontenot is the Program/Operations Director at Vibe Together, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through the arts, wellness, and community engagement. With over six years of experience as a director, Makita has built a strong foundation in nonprofit leadership, program development, and community outreach. Her educational background in early childhood education served as the starting point for her career, and she has since grown into leadership roles focused on youth development and arts programming.

As a co-founder of Vibe Together, Makita has seamlessly combined her passion for the arts and her commitment to youth well-being. Inspired by her children’s interest in dance, she saw an opportunity to fuse her educational background with her love for dance and the arts, ultimately creating an organization that uses creative expression and mental health initiatives as powerful tools for empowerment.

Makita’s leadership encompasses everything from strategic program development and operational management to budget planning and staff coordination. She is committed to ensuring that every program at Vibe Together is inclusive, creative, and aligned with the organization’s mission to uplift youth through arts and wellness.
